| Marilee married Carlton D. Hunt in Fairbury, Nebraska on December 22, 1969. They have 4 grown children: two sons, Ehren Quinn and Christian James Michael and two daughters, Tamah Elizabeth and Rebekah Marie all of whom are Bridgewater Raynham Regional High School graduates (between 1993 and 2002). Christian is married to Laura Anne (Hatch) a Maine native and Tamah is married to Shawn Vest and lives in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. The Hunts have hosted 27 exchange students since moving to Bridgewater. |
| Educationally, Marilee attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska where she received her BA in Humanities and Emerson College in Boston where she received a Master’s Degree in Political Communication. |
| Professionally, Marilee was appointed in 2003 by then Governor Mitt Romney to be the Executive Director of the Governor Commission on Sexual and Domestic Violence. She has also served as the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) STOP Grant Programs Director at the Executive Office of Public Safety where, in addition to grants management and policy work, she served the federal government as a mentor for other VAWA grant managers throughout the United States. For 7 years, she was the Domestic Violence Project Manager at the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance where she created then established SAFEPLAN Massachusetts, a statewide court-based advocacy program for victims seeking protective orders. She is currently the sole proprietor of MKH Consulting based out of her home in Bridgewater. |
| Civically, Marilee has always been an involved in her communities. In Rhode Island, she created a 14 church consortium soup kitchen in the 1980’s when the economy was slow and the community had a need. She was also among the first volunteers at the South County Women’s Resource Center in Wakefield, RI when it opened in 1978. |
| Since moving to Bridgewater, Marilee has been involved as a volunteer at the South Shore Women’s Center (until 1993), recycling efforts, the site council for the Mitchell School (when it was still the Bridgewater Elementary School), the Bridgewater Improvement Association, the American Association of University Women (as local Branch president and statewide vice president), the Bridgewater School Study Committee (as chair),the Community Preservation Committee (as chair), always votes and regularly participates in town meeting The Hunts are site hosts for the Cable 9 television program Around the Table in Bridgewater and Marilee appears often on the show. |
| Marilee is life-long social justice activist who has focused specifically on increasing options for adult and child survivors of domestic and sexual violence. She has worked for both private non-profit organizations and state government. |
